Hey all punk rockers! How’s the mohawk doing? Fine? Ok! Here’s a powerpop tune for you to chew on. The golden year of Hardcore is for me 1983 and for powerpop/punk it’s 1979. How come these years produced such classics? Was it something in the air? Have there been any university studies of these years? The b-side is an awfully bad attempt at reggae.
Here’s Canadas The Tranzmitors doing a cover of Nervous Breakdown. From Newcastle, UK. Released a total of three 7inches and one LP.
Country: UK
Year: 1979
Label: Valium

Wow, that song is fantastic! Thanks for sharing it!
You’re welcome Mr. Weiss :).
Wow — I’ve got to find the White Heat 7″ now, along with the Tranzmitors. They’re both great!
I love this song… And their track “Ordinary Joe” is great. I’ve been told their album is crap but haven’t verified that. Anyone here heard it?
Bought the album recently and it was a real dissapointment. The songs are much too clean and too slow. It’s more Pop than anything else. Glad I paid ‘only’ 10 pounds. Even the version of ‘Nervous Breakdown’ is a bore… Save your money!
Yeah the album is a dissappointment. Thanks for putting this lil’gem up though..can’t stop listening to it.
I ain’t got enough hair for a mohawk :-(
NEVER EVEN HEARD OF THIS BAND OR THIS SONG, AND I WAS JUST BLOWN AWAY!! THIS IS WHY I VISIT THIS SITE EVERY OTHER DAY, ‘COS MUSIC THIS GOOD MAKES LIFE WORTH LIVING. THANK YOU!!!

Anyone know where I can get a hold of the other track? Sammy Sez?
Oh, and if you can help out. My e-mail is inforariotxoix77@yahoo.com
Hold on Seth. Sooner or late a repost of this will come.
I saw WH many times in and around newcastle…can’t agre with some of the views on the album. I suppose a lot of what you hear and enjoy relates to your own environment/up-bringing and I regard “21 and wasted” as well as “alone on the streets after dark” as anthemic commentaries on my part of the world and its life on the streets.
I’d only know this as a Tranzmitors song until now. I think they give the song justice. Gotta say I like this original better though.
I have this and the second single but i’ve never heard the 3rd one. Does anyone know if it’s any good and worth tracking down?
