Lepers – Coitus interruptus 7″

Coitus interruptus 7.jpgI don´t know much about this band so please share your information in the comments! I bought this one in the early 80´s in some record-store in Stockholm selling used records. I didn´t like it that very much then, so it´s been asleep for a decade or two in my record-collection. Nowadays I love it and thought that a share would be fair, maybe also you will love it!?

I have the opposite reaction to this record- I first heard it 10 years ago and liked it. But as the years have gone by I like it less and less. It’s just mediocre, and I think is only noteworthy because it was on the same label as the almighty Pagans. The Lepers were from my hometown of Cleveland, or some nearby suburb. Eh. And the cowbell in that one song is annoying to my ears. But maybe that’s just me. Speaking of cowbells, not too many punk songs can pull off having one in there.

cleveland band(of course) who did a lot of gigs at the DROME, etc… eventually quit playing & at least 2 members moved to Texas in the early 1980’s. at least 1 of those members had something to do with either STICKMEN WITH RAYGUNS or CULTURECIDE; i dont exactly remember. theres also a GREAT live track from 1978 on a VERY obscure cassette comp called “Own The Whole World” #8 (it was an Akron OH area cassette zine produced in summer 1984) that shows this band as almost proto-HC with 1 droning, noisy guitar chord, FAST choppy drumming, & totally ragged vocals; all in a 45-second song…this band never really did much for me when i was younger, but im really liking them now days… theres plenty of band info over at clepunk.com along with any other bit of trivia you would ever want to know about classic bands from the Joke of a city that is Cleveland Ohio…

If they didnt include such horrible guitar solos I would be able to listen to this record…

This is a great album! Love hearing a great female singer especially back in this day when they weren’t as common. I think she went by Pie Tin. Very cool and still holds up today!
