The TV Eye // Drummer got this in the mid 80s from a german distributor as a replacement for another record he intially bought. He wasn’t too sad about it. After a couple of years it finally landed on my turntable in a trade with Calle from the almighty Outlast.
I think I’ll repeat what most people here know: J.Mascis on drums and Lou Barlow on guitar. The two later formed Dinosaur JR a band I enjoyed too in their early stage. Barlow later formed Sebadoh.
Went to see Dinosaur JR in 1992 and was yelling at Mascis to play some Deep Wound:”Play Sick Of Fun with that hysterical yelling J!”. He only smiled back. But nothing they’ve done beats this. Fast and furious Boston HC with great lyrics. They can handle both the speed as in Sisters and the slow stuff as in Dead Babies. And that Radiobeat sound with Lou Giordano behind the mixing desk. How the hell where they able to pull out such great and unique sounds out of their studios? Inne Ear in DC, Radiobeat in Boston, Spaceward in the UK and Bosses Sound in Sweden.

You shouldn’t not post records that are still available in form of represses. That is against the unwritten rules of our dearest blogger community. I ask you to remove this and come to our next meeting. the bloggers community (which you joined when you started this), vice-secretary: e.
It is and I’m like GG of the punk bloggers. No rules!
But the special quality of oil that they pumped up in 1982 in Irak that most of the 1983ish US HC is pressed with has a very very special sound that can never be created with the reissues. The oil created with the resissues hasn’t got that “cold war” quality in it. Just listen you’ll hear it!
So you are pro-war? And I thought you were Anarkist and planned an Attack!!!!
I’m pro-war anti vegan sXe fascist nazist monkey licensed to make you a pizza.
Kuk!

Hahaha, you bastard!
dinosaur jr. may have refused to play deep wound covers, but check their version of CHUNKS [originally by last rights] that’s the reason i ever bought a dinosaur jr. record.
thanks for this excellent record!
I’m glad DINOSAUR didn’t play DW songs. Actually, I enjoy DINOSAUR’s 2nd and third LP much more than DW and in 86 and 87, they KILLED live! When I interviewed J, I kept asking him about DW, he was very irritated about that and promised to send me a box of DW records he still had sitting under his bed. Of course I never received them.
Another story: when I told Dig from EARACHE RECORDS in 1986, if I had 50£, I’d pay that for the DW 7″ (which I already had), he found that so odd that he put “Pay 50£ for this, Megawimp” (that’s me, Megawimp) in the outer grooves of the first NAPALM DEATH 7″, haha.
when i saw dinosaur jr last year, they all started to play a deep wound song. i think they did maybe 15 seconds of “video prick”. they also played “chunks”. awesome!!!!!
first my ex takes this from me when she splits then i go to download it from 7 inch punk and the files are deleted then i order the reissue from this thief on ebay who never sends it to me so yeah this a good fuckin’ posting…
I’m sorry to hear that. But glad I could help you out in some way. Who was the seller on eBay?
J Mascis himself made people notice the Deep Wound connection when, on a promo photo circa You’re Living All Over Me (which I love), he wore the Deep Wound sweater his mom had once made for him!
scott666 from ebay owes me the deep wound reissue
FN KICK ASS RECORD.
i didnt know you posted this album , sorry!
Sorry for what?
I was looking around at some blogs related to my site about Punk in Asia and just happened to land here. Cheers on the nice site!
Jon
thanks man………
i love this…
yea, I noticed someone else posted about scott666 from ebay. He is a deadbeat, he owes me two records i bought 3 months ago and still haven’t received. I hear nothing back from him. A message to anybody out there — don’t buy from this jerk.
I never had problems with scott666. I don’t think it’s fair to spread such things on a blog and anonymously too.
Agree. I’ve done business with scott666 and haven’t had any problems either.
So if you want to attack anyone you should at least be clear with who you are and give a proper email address otherwise your comments will be removed.
Lyckliga mig.
Så det var sXe tarmen som skrek på föda med andra ord! Den kan vara svår att mätta ibland när Judge- och YOT-skivorna spelats till förbannelse. För vem fan vill lyssna på Project X då?
I always felt Dinosaur Jr. sucked — tried listening to it in college when it was all the rage, and was utterly bored. But this is great. Maybe I was hasty in my judgment, and should give Dinosaur Jr. another chance.
Found this on ShiTube a while ago: http://youtu.be/20RoVV_-ol8 I think it’s an outtake from the RadioBeat sessions. Anyone?
