Despite the fact that these motherfuckers kicked me from the drum chair 2 years ago after just one rehearsal, I must say that their 2 EP’s, and especially this one, are quite essential when you’re talking punk from the GBG area. Shit, that was a long sentence.
But I don’t blaim them, it sounded crap when we rehearsed, and this was about a week before the gig (Svensk punk 26 Ã¥r).
But anyway, this is a true classic!!

  2. Senap says:

I think I meant that I don’t BLAME them. Gess I spik engelsk as a borstjbinder.

Ha ha! Funny story about calling that disco radio show and requesting “Discoackel” years ago. I have always been more of a fan of Glo’s “Nerv” EP and it has really grown on me over the years (nd the cover drawing on it is really cool). The “Nerv” EP sounds more polished to me, like they learned to play their instruments better. And it has this evil guitar sound lurking throughout it that is so great. But maybe that’s just me. Speaking of Swedish stuff, I have been digging the Tapes “Dreamland” 7″ from 1977 although I guess it’s not “punk” necessarily. And the band kind of looked like tossers on the cover.

  7. SwePete says:

We all looked like tossers in Sweden in those days. Until MTV came to our shores. Only ABBA had style!!

  8. Tuxie says:

Isn’t the word “discomög”? Gothemburgers often use the local slang word “mög” for dorks, losers and idiots…

  9. Martin says:

DiscoBÖG, not MÖG. Mög is slang as well, but I’m not sure that’s a Gothenburg thing as my mom used to say it when I was a little dork, and she’s not from Gothenburg.

  10. Martin says:

Oh yeah, I use the word mög about trash or dirt, but I think you can use it about ppl as well.

…and my mp3 collection of SwePunk classics begins to reach a climax.
