Joe of Last Days has an excellent post on the 80’s NJ/USA scene. In the comment section we started to talk about a forgotten Mutha Records band named Partners In Crime who released a great 12″ which will be posted in the near future. The music is great but what tops it is the members outrageous biker look. You have to see to believe. This led me to Ducky Boys. I mean take a look at these tuff guys! Should I laugh, be scared or just cry?
The guy on the left has to be a genuine retard. Camouflage dress and a hand grenade in his right hand? Ha ha you gotta be kidding. Oh wait! Who’s on the right? It’s Alma Merced holding a knife while thinking about who she’s going to cut next. Hope it’s not me :(. With names like Al Catraz(Guitar, Vocals), Charlie Cutemup(Bass), Alma Merced(Vocals), Phlegm(Drums) and Broadway Turk Superstar(Vocals) they’re trying to convince us that they want to be mercenaries hooked on junk that just need some little loving tonight.Â

Whew! I was afraid at first that this was going to be the Ducky Boys from Boston. One of the worst bands I’ve ever had the misfortune of seeing twice.
I’d never heard “A Little Loving Tonight” and I could’ve gone on without hearing it. The others are rippers, though. Best band photo ever, natch!
I’m looking forward to hearing this. It could be that the lads lived in a rough neighborhood thus the combat gear. Hehe.
Whoahh! What country are these guys from? They don’t look Irish but the IRA T-Shirt is an excellent touch. I think they are dressed that way cuz they wanna be merceneries.
Haha, now this is Mongo Rock! And what’s the green metallic shine on the vinyl?
Ha ha the green metallic shine is kryptonite!
That’s why I feel so tired after hearing these Mongo tunes!
you need an amphetamine addiction
No, that will only make me go “down the drain”. [more Zero Boys quotes, please]
one of the worst photos ever!!!
Strange- a quick “who the hell are these people” internet check reveals that some of these folks used to be in something called “The Spoiler” who have apparently reformed a mere 10 minutes from my house. And we’re not talking Brooklyn. A small world it is.
If you’re living in KC MO then be afraid. Be very afraid.
the drummer stole my name. also, alma merced has one of the worst FUPAs i’ve ever seen.
This record is sooo good! Yeah, Is the picture of the band supposed to make fun of mercenaries or what? I love the punk-rock-n-roll with a bass line sound but the echo-plex effect on the vocal track waters it down.
Agreed, Brushback. The other Ducky Boys are just awful.
As far as the Partners in Crime biker look, they may have been in BBMC. Or they just liked NJ woods parties.
Hi, This record is dissapointed for 1982. I’ve posted PARTNERS IN CRIME if you still need this recording… VILE76.
Check my site :

My blog : http://vile76.blogspot.com/
Hi Vile76! I will check out your site for sure. The Partners In Crime will still be posted since the purpose of the site is to post everything I like hence there will be records here found on other sites.
what happened with the latest posts?
Is it just me or has a lot of your website disappeared? Is it just me, or is the Ducky Boys post from Oct. 21 now the most recent post?
I know why this happened. I used something called super cache to make the website faster but apparently some of you guys ended up with old pages in your browsers. Shall work fine now I hope. Let me know.
Lookin’ good now!
I think this was the band that tried to burn down the CBGBs cause the Dead Boys pissed them off.
Hooked On Junk is sheer genius! Mercenaries I got tired of after a few plays, the theme isn’t really my bag either – fuck the army!!!!!
Hey man i hate to be that guy but if you could get around to upping the Partners in Crime 12″ i will eternally be your slave. The only audio i can find of theirs is on a site which has links to a church on it…
The Old Guard is disappearing, and these guys were the Keepers of the Flame. Lou Reed is dead, and punk rock is right behind him. Broadway Turk Superstar and the Spoiler made a comeback in KC MO in 2011 but couldn’t get it going on that lame-ass music scene. Those of you who have “Mercenary”, cherish that piece of punk history. It is a piece of Atlantis before being submerged by the tidal waves of ennui.
