There’s many bands that I really like then there’s bands that I really really love. Descendents have always been one of them. Just listen to my old HC band Raped Teenagers and you can hear I ripped off a lot of beats from Descendents and continue do so whenever I can. I know I’m a bit late on this but you know Frank Navetta died on the 31st of October.
As one of the co-founders of the band, responsible for the art on this EP and composer of many a great songs his importance can’t be overstated. And he will always be remembered as the guitarist on one of the best Punk LPs ever made: Milo Goes to College.
Hard to pick a fave among the five tracks here but over the years Mr. Bass has grown on me and that’s a Navetta song so this goes out to you Frank.Â

Exciting to be the first one to comment on this one. It’s pretty decent I must say. Did the band release anything else?
I’m the second person to comment. Thrilling!
Descendents rock! Thanks for a great post.
When this came out, it was on the turntable for weeks. Classic ep. Fave song being….all of them. Since I saw my dad last night, “My Dad Sucks” rings true today. Thanks.
Martin. No, I don’t think they released anything else. Hahahahahahahahahaha….
“Do you want Bill’s sperm with that?” NO!
But maybe Milos? Yes PLEASE!
I prefer Impatient Youth
Ouch sorry to hear that hairy.
I prefer Reagan Youth
I prefer Mongoloid Youth.
I prefer Paul Chain.
But this baby SMOKES.
senseless music
Short, sharp and senseless! Just a tad better than Nig-Heist. I like this one…
Too fast for me. I like the slowest songs of Descendents.
Too fast for me…I would rather listen to Billy Joel’s love ballads!
One of the best HC 7 inches ever recorded. Classic.
Maybe Richard Clayderman’s version of My Dad Sucks
Kenny G. does the best version of My Dad Sucks. It makes my skin crawl.
Peter, do you have a Myspace acct? i would like to send a friend request because I want to discuss trading rare records with you.
hard to trade if you don’t have a working email address jimi.
I must have misspelled it, i’ll check.
still doesn’t work. you can email: info anarchy a kbdrecords.com
I Like Food was one of the 1st HC tracks I heard on John Peel in late 81/early 82 along with the Conservatives and some Flex Your Head tracks. It’s hard to describe how jawdropping hearing something like this was at the time of Chron Gen and the Anti Nowhere League! And then a year later getting to see MDC on the DKs last UK tour……turned for life….!
I’d like to see the lyrics of I Like Food and Wienerschnietzel, any possibility of you sending them to me or posting them here?
Nevermind.. Noticed you can magnify the images
Great EP. As a college radio jock in 1981, I always tried to cue up the next record while “Weinerschnitzel” was playing. Never made it; always had to go to tape to dodge dead air. If I only had 3 more seconds or faster hands.
As usual this is great. KBD kicks ass!!
Yes. A titanic piece of wax with “Mr. Bass” being the star of the show! I saw a student wearing a Descendents tee today, he looked pretty happy!!
