Perverts – Nevergreens E.P. 7″

As it’s Christmas now I thought I should give you something  you all want when Santa brings his big sack. Nope, I’m not talking about head, but a pervert! I know you won’t admit it, but deep down inside you all wish you would have the guts to write down “a pervert” on the top of your Chrismas wish list.

The Perverts were among the major players in Gothenburg, and despite their name, their most famous song Ronka (jerk off), original member Mats Drougge who later found fame with semi-porno-macho-magazine Slitz and their nude posing on the cover of Funtime fanzine, they were actually quite serious. If you don’t believe me, just look at the lyrics to this, their second and last E.P.

    Song 2 does not play…don’t be a ronka! :)

  2. The Flakes // Drummer says:

  3. This doesn’t make me ronka.

  4. Jay Thurston says:

    No mas ronka!!

  5. The Flakes // Drummer says:

Best träck is of course Jogging part 2 tätt followed av DrogbÃ¥g. One of the weakest GBG 7″s in my opinion.

  6. The Flakes // Drummer says:

The cover is one of the best though! Totally punx!

  7. Senap says:

All the GBG-punksingles that came in the late ’70s – early ’80s are the backbone of Swedens punkscene! So if something is one of the weakest in GBG means that it’s equal to what was the best in some other town! ;o)
Maybe I’m a LowKalPatriot but that’s the truth.
“Dolores”-Lasse (on the left on the cover) are also the reason to why I’m into punkrock. He was the first to import UK punksingles to Lilla London. RESPECT!

  8. No GBG-punksingles are worth mention. They are all crap!

  9. Martin says:

Vi måste lära oss att säga NAJ (innan vi kan armera vår betong). Så säg efter mig nu. 1,2,3, NAAAAAJ!!!!
The thickest Götlaborgsdialekt since Sten-Åke Cederhök hade hjulen för dörren i Haga.

  10. Senap says:

Btw Martin, Mats Drougge wasn’t an original member. Just an erected member!

  11. gobo says:

Someone has a copy of this for sale? I must own it!

  12. Martin says:

Wahoo! For those of us who can’t get enough of Götlaborgspunk, here are 2 amazingly sloppy and snotty inyourface rökare from a band I’ve never heard about before called Kloak. If they had put those 2 songs on a piece of plastic the same day as they recorded this demo it would’ve been one of the greatest 7inches from Sweden. I SHIT YOU (s)NOT! Senap, do you have any memories of this band?

Thanks to Farbror Punk for finding this jewel.

  13. Senap says:

I had that Funtime ‘zine back in the haze so I’ve read about them. First time I heard them was when Jocke put these trax out on his blob.. blog. They existed a year, did one gig plus some “kuppande” so I don’t think it’s strange that didn’t leave a mark in GBG history of punk!? I can’t say I’m that blown away by these two songs. Did you say sloppy? I’m not holding that against you, Martin.

  14. Martin says:

You have to listen again Senap. They’re not just sloppy, they are fantastic as well! In a perfect world every band should have released at least one 7″ when they were as raw as Kloak. They should have been bigger than an Elvisp in my humble opinion.

  15. Jay Thurston says:

Martin, I am sorry, but I don’t hear it either. They were a “punk” band that did a couple of “punk” songs…that is what I hear. Sorry Martin.

  16. Martin says:

I’m sorry Jay, but I’m afraid my ears may be more suitable for the Swedish lingo or maybe I’m just too shocked that I never heard of that band before. I kind of knew that I took water over my head when I said it would have been one of the greatest swepunk 7inches, but I will keep on saying that and the songs are still great now when I’ve played them 20 times in a row. Just like Trams (from the boring Oasen live album) are amazing thanks to their “I just bought this guitar and I’m not sure if it’s supposed to sound like this but I’m gonna play anyway” attitude. Or to put it short and sharp; the sloppier and amateurier the better in my book.

  17. Jay Thurston says:

To you it may be one of the greatest recordings. It is great that you love it. It doesn’t sound that great to me. Maybe, if I listen to it again, it may sound better??? Nice find though.

  18. Martin says:

Thanks Jay, I’m glad it’s OK with you that I love it. You’re not at all like Erich who always has to be right and get the last word.
By the way Jay, do you like the Sex Pistols and the Exploited? I think they are great. Too bad one of the guys from the Sex Pistols is dead. He had cool hair. He was really punk. I’m sure he liked to be drunk. His electric bass guitar sounded “plunk”. He smelled like a skunk. The singer liked funk. Perverts had nothing against a good runk. Remember to clean up your spunk. Don’t leave it in your trunk. A true punk drinks alcohol from a dunk.

    Fy fan, I’m so tired.

  19. Jay Thurston says:

Honestly, I truly dislike the Exploited. Wattie is an ass. He smells of bad gas. He really has no class. He likes to catch bass. Sings like Mama Cass. Never goes to Sunday mass. Should I say more…no, I think I will pass. Fy fan va bra! Don’t drink alcohol, it is bad for the liver.

  20. Senap says:

If we’re talking Exploited I think Big John was the guy! He could eat a whole pie! And he smoked a lot of braj! But then it was bye-bye.
I don’t think Kloak ever got this much attention in the last 25 years or so as they did today. Now forget about them and dig ’em up again in the year 2034. Then maybe I can say something nice about the lads.

  22. Martin says:

Hörrö Senap, do you ever hang out with Lingon, Kakan and Ägget at the same time?

  23. Inge Ansvar says:

Straitjackets – “Jag är en mänska” mÃ¥ste va bland det bästa som aldrig släppts pÃ¥ vinyl! GBG rules! Stockolm e inge rockn roll.

  24. The Flakes // Drummer says:

    English please.
