Discovered that this been in the posting queue since January 2008! Time to post it. This one spells  C-L-A-S-S-I-C! So crude so rude so goodamn evil. The production and mixing goes so well with Bobbys evil sneering voice. Everything is up front. So close to the speakers it jumps at you. Ladies and gentlemen THIS is how a snare drum shall sound, like you’ve put greaseproof paper on it. Killer! For some reasons Scavenger of Death hasn’t got as much attention as the title track but to me it’s just as great. Monotonous and hypnotizing.

Probably one of the best records of the 79-80 season! if not the best.I miss Bobby calling me up loaded and screaming “dirty deeds done dirt cheap” half out of his mind on natural light or harmony hill…great guy,great record!
Definitely two of my favorite tracks from the Bloodstains Across Texas comp., although, Peter, your rips sound a lot better than mine. Of course, you have the original and I was burning from bootleg records. And I could never get that speed adjuster right…

Mr.Robert Soxx singing-style on Side A is ab bit much even to my wide taste and annoys there that he manages to ANNOY (me) B-side alot, while he calmed down a bit and that´s cool flip!!!

Yeah I flew over to Texas in 1981 upon it’s release. In hindsight it was worth it.
Behjan, neither Snuky or Fits has been posted. And they won’t be posted either. At least not here. I used to have Bored of Education but never got into it so I traded it away. I have the reissue of Snuky but it’s not that good I think.

For me this record is a revelation and I don’t think any other punk record sounds quite like it, amazing stuff. “Scavenger of Death” is just so evil sounding. I’ve found that you can really make people feel uncomfortable playing that tune for them. The backing band was the Dirxx brothers who played wimpy shit in the Telefones when not with Mr. Soxx. The Bobby Soxx/Teenage Queers live LP that came out on BTX in ’98 was OK but nothing like this.
No no no Tony, you can’t call the Telefones wimpy shit as She’s in love (with the Rolling Stones) is so good that I thought the band was from the UK.
Don’t forget that Bobby Beeman produced this single and then he became the bass player in Bobby Soxx’s next band Stickmen with Rayguns. Check them out here

Bobby B. did pay for the pressing, it probably never would have happened otherwise, but nobody ‘produced’ it, in the studio sense. It was recorded/mixed on a TEAC 4 track Reel-Reel by Randy Caldwell (NCM drummer) in his house. I have a photo of Randy’s studio set up, but I can’t attach a photo here.

Why don’t you press some high quality records while you’re at it, bootlegs of this are all over the place.
Many people, like myself, discovered those songs from the Bloodstains Across Texas album. If it wasn’t for that album, alot of other people wouldn’t have discovered those songs either. The other option to hear these songs that many people go for is getting one of the bootlegs that Ian is talking about. If there was some represses in existence, there would be people buying them, but since there’s not, I’ll continue listening to my Bloodstains Across Texas album while other people will continue to buy bootlegs of this 7 inch.
Well, I was actually including Bloodstains, since that is a bootleg.
I’m all for who ever wrote the songs getting paid, I’d just like to see a legit version of the record available (for under $400), and not just some mp3’s.
I was referring to the bootleg copies of the 7 inch that are out there. Perhaps I should have worded my reply a bit differently.
