Since I will repost Erichs whole back catalog I’ll continue my mission. And Jay Thurston seems to ignore my ultimatum for another post to happen so he wins and I loose.

You’ve all heard Jesus, I guess, and knows how great it is. No news there. My personal faves are Stop You’re Killing Me and Avon Lady though. Any old enough to remember those ladies running around selling cosmetics? Though we didn’t have the Avon Lady in Sweden we had something equivalent that fooled my mom into buying some shit she didn’t need. If you’ve had seen her bathroom closet you would agree. Too bad I wasn’t old enough to fuck some of them cause there where some beauties ringing on my bell.

And now you’re too married for the pretty cosmetic ladies…
Killer post by the way. The overall sound of this record are beyond great, with the slippery bass sound as the cum on the cream in my jeans. From time to time it sounds like they have no idea of what they are doing, but it works out so good all together. The soft guitar part on Stop you’re killing me sounds like it could’ve been done by a Könköping or Snuskvarna band none the less.

I think you should send me your copy of this record by the way.

  2. The Flakes // Drummer says:

Which bands from Bönköping/Ljuskvarna are you thinking of Mr. M?

I’ll send you my copy over to you if you’ll pass your Feskekyrka Lady over to me.

You should all check out Feederz-Living Room demo from 1980 that I found somewhere. Killer!

The good old days to me is the early 80’s with punk, hardcore punk and new wave I loved it all cause back then us teenagers where trying to find are selves, and are idenity and massave drug use, cause we where the children from the hippie parents and all that shit. keep free music alive

  3. mike robinson says:

erich made me a tape with this record for me when i was 17 back in the good ol day of 97. blew my mind along with everything else he put onto the tape then but feederz always stuck with me. awesome stuff-

  4. MILKY says:

We still have Avon ladies here, but I never see them; only the the plastic bags with catalogues in them that they leave on the front door knobs of our coal camp houses.

  5. dewey decimal says:

All 4 tracks are absolutely fantastic. Jesus is such a great track but the others seem more “fresh” because we’ve all heard Jesus so many times. Another great post. Thanx.

  6. Anonymous says:

    the feederz were genius

  7. ian says:

Good to hear this again – just noticed for the first time that Frank Discussion has a bit of a pseudo Brit accent on ‘jesus’ – am I imagining this? The jellybeans version of this is the killer in my book – rawer, snarlier & with that final scream at the end even more disturbing! Pick track on this has gotta be Avon lady – great tune. When I think Feederz I always think of their great artwork/covers – the sandpaper LP is master packaging & the cover to ‘Teachers’ is fantastic too…don’t think either effort musically compares with this ep tho – its got it all & doesn’t get long in the tooth like the LPs.

  8. titanic says:

i think i might like this version of jesus and terrorist more than the ones that appeared on the LP

  9. fred says:

Frank Discusssion has been all over Usenet newsgroups for years, usally “discussing” Yugoslavian politics (http://groups.google.com/groups/profile?hl=en&enc_user=FBWkBxEAAAClpijuGbA0ASuBhDPm_o8nIZ6HvvJW0y4Pue0pYgAOJQ)

He played gutar in the day of this 45 (and I assume these days as well) without a pick!, Just strumming the guitar frantically with his hand!

  10. Levi Johnston says:

Of course I am disappointed to hear that Peter is married (I guess all my heroes are bourgeois) but I am glad he still fucks Erich (and perhaps Jello’s wife, too).

In this case, I am not old enough in that I thought this record came out on Placebo.

We need another almost-punk Martin post.

  11. The Flakes // Drummer says:

Well Levi I’m not married. Martin is just trying to fool you since he knows I get all the cute men. And he HATES that.

The repress came out on Placebo. This is the first press you’re seeing.

  12. I’ll start posting some almost-punk and powerpoop records if Peter keeps following my trails of good bad taste …… Wonderful record, of course – and the “Don’t work” poster is so lovely too. BTW, there was something like a first and a half-pressing of this: Placebo sleeves & Anxiety vinyl.

  13. Martin says:

    Peter, from Boyz 2 Men???

  14. Tom says:

    Peter,

Thanks for mentioning the Feederz demo. I hadn’t heard of i but found it easily, and, based on your recommendation, enjoyed it. As with most punk demos, it is golden.

Does anyone know where I can find these 2 demos: Suburban Lawns (I assume only one, with the song “PCP” that was comped on “High Road to Obscurity,” but there could be two or more) and the (Impatient) Youth 3-song demo that has the superior version of “Frontline” (called “This Is the Front Line” that was comped on an Austarlian cassette magazine in 1981 and played on MRR Radio around that time, as well)?

    Thanks in advance.

P.S. Are you really reposting Erich’s entire back catalog? If so, does that include his limited time postings?

  15. The Flakes // Drummer says:

He he no I just happen to post records that he’ve posted some time ago. Some records can’t be posted enough and since this site is also kind of my online archive there will be loads of shit posted on other sites posted here too. And as you can see Erich has reposted some records that’s been posted here before.

Glad you found the Feederz demo! Can’t help you with the other stuff.

  16. Renik says:

Certainly a classic 7 inch indeed. Frank Discussion is residing in Seattle and still does Feederz shows every now and then. The last line-up that I saw a couple of years back included Frank and two people from a Seattle band called “Hippies In Flames.”

  17. Jay Thurston says:

Never liked the Feederz. The wife hates them more than I do. She saw them open for DK in ’81 and said they were the worst band she had ever seen. Frank had live cockroaches taped to his head and a clear shower curtain around his waist…

  18. fred says:

    >Frank had live cockroaches taped to his head and a clear shower curtain around his waist…

That’s a famous show! What was the thing that could have made it bad?

The last Feederz LP, the free one he gave away online produced by Jack Endino was freaking fantastic. Kicks off with a cover of the best 60s punk song ever, Break It All by Los Shakers!

(writing this while watching the uncut version of They Call Her One Eye!)

  19. malfeitor says:

My mom was so offended by this record that she broke it in half and tossed it. At least it was the Placebo pressing. Kind of an aggressive move by a rather reserved lady. Almost punk you might say. In fact, I think Frank would probably appreciate this reaction.

  20. Jay Thurston says:

I do not like the music of the Feederz. I tried…

  21. Jay Thurston says:

What are Frank’s children named again?? Anyone?? They were great names as I recall….

  22. The Flakes // Drummer says:

I think I´ve got their names correct: Skrållan, Knorrhane and Rusprick.

  23. Jay Thurston says:

No…seriously. One is named Stupid and the other is named Useless. That is what I have been told.

  24. The Flakes // Drummer says:

And the third is named Turd.

  25. Jay Thurston says:

Seriously, Peter, that is what he named his children. Pretty punk, if you ask me. If I had kids I would have named them “Asshole” and “Dildo”…haha

  26. Tom says:

Jay, Peter’s response is pretty punk if you ask me. I didn’t know Frank had kids. I don’t know or have even seen him, but he just doesn’t seem the fatherly type.

  27. Jay Thurston says:

Oh yeah, Peter always has something funny to say. That is why I keep coming back. Hahaha

  28. The Flakes // Drummer says:

Doh! I thought it was cause you had crush on me :(. Or even liked the music sometimes.

  29. Senap says:

Jay, Dildo is already taken. We (in IKEA County) got a female singer with no forehead, formerly mrs Martin Svensson, whose name is Dildo.

  30. Jay Thurston says:

Damn it! It is great to know that others have thought of the name “Dildo”, I am not alone with my sheer brilliance. Peter, as for the music, yes, I do love most of the music that is posted. NO METAL!!!! You can’t beat that.

  31. malfeitor says:

By the way Peter, you keep posting Erich’s back catalog and I’ll keep writing the same responses that I wrote on his blog to his posts of the same records. Did you catch all that????

  32. The Flakes // Drummer says:

Sounds like a great idea malfeitor :D. So what shall I post next that you’ve made a comment on over at Erichs plaza?

  33. Tom says:

Peter, why not post the back catalog of dressedforthehbomb, while you’re at it? I’ll repost whatever responses I made over there, which is probably none. malfeitor, how does that sound?

And I’ll also repost any comments I made on Erich’s blog (and I made a few) as you repost his stuff here.

  34. Okay, okay folks. Got it. You want me to quit blogging and fall back into my anonymous little shit life.

  35. Tom says:

Erich, for me, at least, I’d be unhappy if you quit blogging. Just think of it as flattery on Peter’s part.

  36. malfeitor says:

Don’t get carried away Erich. My anonymous little shit life involves only reading the blogs. Then what would I do???

  37. The Flakes // Drummer says:

And I wouldn´t be able to repost upcoming posts and slag the metal records :(.

  38. Indeed says:

Avon Lady. According to my thalamus, I’ve listened to Avon Lady seventeen times since yesterday.

  39. Buttcheese says:

And I dont care if I get banned, I’ve practically ripped this entire site anyway. Thanx for the music.

  40. b e h j a n says:

Someone finally release their 1st demo circa 1979 where one song can be heard on KBD 13 (the CALIFORNIAN PuNk demo-only COMP!),namely “Peter Gunn Theme” (that sleeve shown for that demo looks so great)
Aaah,I can´t stop listen to “Avon Lady” (now playing for the 18th time in a row )
    God bless Frank Discussion!

    • The Flakes // Drummer says:

Only have mp3s of that demo and it’s amazing. Who released it and where can I get one?

      • Nathan G says:

In an ideal world the “Vulvateen” track from the demo would be on this record instead of the homophobic “Jesus.”

  41. Oeb says:

    Briliant 7″…. Thanks again!

  42. Milana says:

Where can I find a copy of this LP? I need it in my collection

  43. Milana says:

    Nothing on Ebay :-[

  44. Ben Wah says:

I played drums on the 3rd LP & the subsequent live shows, until the band imploded. Just for the record, I was the only one in Hippies In Flames, (played guitar) & as a drummer, playing in the Feederz was one of the most challenging things I have ever done. The original drummer (Art) & D.H. Peligro are WAY better drummers than I am & I really had to practice to “cut it.” That’s all.

Thurston – all your taste is in your mouth, buddy.

  45. chris says:

    Hello,

I know this is a long shot, but you don’t happen to have a higher resolution version of the “Don’t Work” insert scan? I want to print it on a t-shirt so I can offend people with work ethics. If you do, maybe reply to this comment or something and I’ll post my e-mail.

    Best regards
