Re-post from Sep. 7th 2006. New high quality rips of all the tracks plus bigger scans. When I read the post again I wonder why I never played this record for Packe since I’ve had it since the early 1980’s. Same goes with the awful Gollywog 7″ from 1978 that I thankfully got rid off. What does LLR means by the way?
As you know both Peter and I are from Sweden so I guess you like us to post some swedish nuggets! Well, I don´t want to disappoint you so here´s a smasher from BrülbÃ¥jz. I hadn´t heard this until early 90´s and was totally blown away! This is top 20 swedish 7″ if you ask me.
Member/members later found fame in SATOR – a swedish punk/rock band.
Country: Sweden
Year: 1980
Label: Prylén
Format: 7″
Songs:
Dodens apostlar.mp3
EAP.mp3
Underhallningsvald.mp3
Wow, this is great! Imagine, they could play a bit better and would speed up these songs – it would be even greater!
“EAP” is a killer and blew me away when I first heard it back in 1989 on KBD#4. The other songs just do not compare for me. Johan Kugelberg has mentioned one of the old members in Ugly Things ‘zine several times– Chips Kiesbye– and he is apparently still into punk and DIY. See him name dropped here:

Yupp Chips is a big record collector nerd. He’s the guitarist in Sator. I’m glad Rob Noxious never got hold of him when he was here last year.
Ah, so Chips is the Sator guitarist. What the fuck does Brulbajz mean in English? Ha ha, good ol’ Rob Noxious. Did you happen to see the pictures someone posted a while back on the KBD Yahoo! group of Mr. Noxious on this T.V. dating show over here in America? Pretty funny that he was on T.V. At least now the rest of us know what he looks like after hearing horrible stories about him for years. Ryan Richardson wrote some funny stuff about Rob Noxious back in like ’99 when he had a regular article in Maximum Rock n’ Roll.
You’re not thinking about the photo I posted of him :)? I busted Rob last year when he ripped me off. He still owes me though. Got a nice email from him a couple of days ago actually. Do a search on here for : lewdsnot, zoloft_anaconda.
Have to dig up Ryans articles.
Yeah and how do I translate Brulbajz to swenglish? Hmm a tuff one. I think they where thinking about “brylcreme” some kind of hair stuff “raggare” uses to get their hair nice and greesy. Or maybe not?
Raggare is a bunch of motherfuckers.
PS: I WANT THOSE PHOTOS!!!!!!
Punk rockers are a bunch of retards.
But not every retard is a punk rocker!
Thanks for doing a rough translation of Brulbajz into English. Brylcreme, they sell that stuff over here in the U.S.- it has the same usage, too, for those Raggare-style 50’s hairdos. My Dad still uses Brylcreme to this day, although he was never a Raggare, or whatever the American equivalent of that would be- I guess we’d call them “greasers” in the U.S. Like the characters in that movie “The Outsiders” from like ’83. Those Raggare must have been a bunch of muddafukkas toward punks, there’s a fair number of Swedish songs about them from the late 70’s.
Yes Tony – and it illustrates rather nicely how physical pain sometimes is needed to produce true art. Maybe we should start beating up HC and Emo kiddies.
I always wondered were they got the cover photos from. Anyone know? Are they from some weird cult-horror film?
The cover photo was made by Mikael (later drummer in Sator Codex, Sator), just outside he and his mother’s summerhouse in 1980, that summerhouse later became Sator Codex reherseal studio for a couple of years, even a concert was performed there in 1979 or 1980 if i remember it right, go to sator’s homepage and read the full story.
Cool, thanks! Great image idea.
Been wondering about that too Greg. Looking at the inside scan makes me think it’s something they did by themself.
I saw Chips here in my town last summer when he was the auxilary-bass player for WHITE FLAG ,when they toured with ADOLESCENTS.
Chips (actually,a nickname) visited me also in 2000 with his wife.
Very much knowedgeable in Punk and used to have that THE TREND 7″ from Syracuse many years ago, that he traded away.
LLR means Legoland Rockers, and they built the dummy on the cover themselves as far as I know. Do you want a scan of the insert Peter?
Yeah, please send me a scan of the insert Martin and I’ll post it here too :).
i’m assuming you’ve probably already seen it, but on the off chance you haven’t got a hold of it, i just uploaded the insert, you can see it on my site. you can use it here if you wanted.
Years ago The Swedish national radio let Chips do a show where he played all KDB records. I remember the Rotters, Child Molesters, Shirkers, Simpletones etc.
Would love to hear it! Anyone got a recording?
Just to erase a minor mistake here, the full name of the band was Brulbajz (LLR), so (LLR) is actually not the name of the EP. By the way, I think I bought my copy of this one from the original poster Packe.
Martin, you´re right about that. I´ll change it.
great record. thanks!
BrülbÃ¥jz is some sort of fake Swedish/English for The Brylcreem Boys. They were some local thugs who used to beat em up. It was their way of getting their revenge by naming a punkband after them…
The LLR stood for “Legoland Rockers” which was the first name for a couple of days but no one ever said the LLR part…
