This is the first release from Stick! who released quite a few 7Inches and albums and hung around ’til the mid 80s before they broke up and the members focused on their writing/ TV careers instead. This EP is the only one they released as just Stick!, but as you can see from the hand writing (done by the band) on my copy, it didn’t take long after they released it til they did a minor change of the band namne and added the singers name and started call themselves Kai Martin & Stick!.

I sure wish the entire EP was as great and quirky as Jag dansar inte, but compared to that song, the other ones are pretty much so-so, as they lack the fantastic high pitched and insane vocals of that song. With that said I leave the word to Senap as I’m sure he has some fine memories of this band that he is willing to chare with us all.

And maybe a word of warning as well. Don’t spend your money on their other releases even if they’re cheap. This is pretty much the only thing they did that’s worth hearing. Spend that extra money you got on the second release on the Puzzle label instead, as that’s the first release from Urban Slake.

I love this EP! Have a couple of really great shots of Stick that I’ll be using for the swedish punk book I’m doing with Peter Kagerland. The sax player… ha ha you have to see it!!

  2. Senap says:

Hjalp! What can I say ’bout Stick! ? They were never any faves of mine. Saw them a couple of times back in the daze and yes Peter, I saw saxofÃ¥nplayer Gomer, haha, 2,5 meter lÃ¥ng. I like this one a lot but I also think that “MÃ¥ndag MÃ¥ndag” and “Man Ska Vara Som Ett Vildjur I Ã…r” are worth buying as well, they are so cheap anyways so it’s worth it! Drummer Ronny “Jotten” Svensson became a film critic and Kai Martin started off as a rockjournalist, first for ’80s mag Ritz and are now at the daily paper GöteborgsTidningen (GT)…
When is the punkbook due for release Peter?

    • SwePete says:

It´s true that “Man ska vara ett vilddjur i Ã¥r” is worth buying. That is about all. Is it true that kai Martin used to be a Hockey goalie? He was a living hockey stick though.

I know this will upset a lot of people, but honesty is my best quality. This record is a bunch of shit and if I ever bought such crap…I swear, I would have hunted down the band and killed them all. This is the worst record I have ever heard. I feel better now…

    • The Flakes // Drummer says:

It must be easy and the same time hard and boring to have such a narrow music taste :).

      • Jay Thurston says:

Narrow music taste?? Hahahahaha…this just sucks ass. I will now go listen to some Abba, Queen, Dixie Chicks, Regina Spektor, Crass, Flipper, Einsturzende Neubauten, Jim Croce, Louis Jordan, Johnny Cash, Marked Men, Clash, Discharge, Cheap Trick, Enya, Bobby Darin, Love, Count Five, Jimi Hendrix, Iris Dement, Elvis Costello, etc. It sucks being narrow minded… : )

  4. Jay Thurston says:

I love Enya! I hate her sister though..hahaha.

  5. b e h j a n says:

ENYA? Her “Only If” is such a goodie (from the mainstream music-biz)
to my ears.Definitely in another class than like LADY GAGA or other defects
KAI MARTIN? Hear it for the first time now and “Jag Dansar Inte” is in fact the outstanding one on this 7″ to my ears.Short enough, aswell.
BTW,I am longing for the day that that “strange slammer” I WANT MORE of the 7″ by MORGAN himself will be posted here (never heard the other song)
