Holland is such a small country, but the sure managed to produce loads of tough, raw and high quality punk, like God’s Heart Attack, Brommers, Helmettes, Mollesters, Filth, Suzannes, Tits, Meccano Ltd and these rockin’ lads.

Maybe not as tough as their compadres, but they managed to come up with a guitar sound to kill for on this 7″, which is their only release as far as I know. As i haven’t posted anything Swedish in a few weeks I think I have to say that One-Way Subway reminds me of Goteborg Sound, just to get some Swedish references in a non-Swedish post. You can be pretty sure that these guys had been playing for some time before the knight in shining black armor came and gave them some new influences, and more attitude.

A friend of mine’s copy of this record came with a bunch of inserts, xeroxed flyers from their gigs at the Roxy etc, but not mine. Daniel Dellemyr, please scan the inserts for me and mail them to me!

Wow! This is great from start to finnish. You’re right, the guitar tone completely rips! So much that my pants fell off!

  5. Niels says:

These guys were around as early as 1970, playing more r&b-type of stuff apparently. The singer is the dad of ex-Puinhoop/ Bloedbad-member Michael!

  6. Erich says:

Dad of a Bloedbad member? You gotta be kidding, Niels! This makes it even better. Total ripper!!

  7. The Flakes // Drummer says:

Top notch from start to finish!

  8. Arend says:

There is also a 6-track LP, One Way Subway. Released 1979.

  9. Niels says:

Oops, I always seem to blurt out something and than do my research later. Seems Michael Bloedbad’s dad was a member of their first (’69-’72, Doors/ MC5-inspired) line-up.
BTW, bloedbad = bloodbath. Dutch is easy!

  10. Michael says:
