Reeperbahn – Havet ligger blankt/Be-bop 7″

The first time I heard Havet ligger blankt as a very young kid I thought it was the best song ever written even if I couldn’t understand what the fuck the lyrics was supposed to be about. It’s now at least 20 years since that first time I fell in love with the song, but I still love it almost as much now as I did back then. Too band the band never manage to record anything thats even close to being as good as that song after that, despite all the records they did.

The band recorded a bunch of decent power pop demos as well before this 7″, and some of those songs from can be heard on their myspace site where you can read the full story of the band.

Don’t you just love it when everything about a band is well documented so you don’t have to read too much of my noncense here? I sure do!

Yes, they did. “Till: Mitt Liv” is probably even better! And “Lycklig”.

“Reeperbahn was never involved with electronic music or racism activities.”

So you do understand the lyrics as you´ve grown, do you? Please do tell!

    • Martin says:

I can understand your curiosity Peter, but as you should know by now, I don’t understand anything more today than I did as a pre-teen boy.
Do you know what they’re about? I so, please tell me oh mighty grown-up collector.

And “Havet ligger blankt” has the same refrain as Ebba Gröns “Alla visa män” and Problems “Ja vill inte ha”! Well almost.
