Dennis The Menace – S/T E.P. 7″

Why the long wait? My spare time after work is totally dedicated to designing an upcoming book about Swedish Punk/New Wave. About 500 bands from 1977-1982 and about 300 never before published photos. It´s going to be really great I think. Just too bad it´s in swedish only but if you´re interested you can always look at all the photos and pretend it´s just like the days before you could read. Which for most punks means pre-25.

Dennis the Menace one and only(?) EP is awkward and twisted. Just the way I like it. Three fantastic tracks and one that makes me fall asleep: In My Reflection but the rest are just top notch. You gotta dig it. So who can tell me and the others around here anything else about ém?

Country: USA
Year: 1980

hahahaha. Can’t wait to see the book.
    This 7″ is nice.

  2. zach says:

yeah it’s all good except for In My Reflection. thanks.

  3. Keith says:

Hope to see lots of bands not covered in The Encyclopedia of Swedish Punk like Noise, Garbochock, Bruset, Tant Strul, Heartbreak….. I’m glad it’s going to be in Swedish too! I’m reading StÃ¥ aldrig still right now, or at least the 50% of it that I can understand. When is the book coming out?

    • The Flakes // Drummer says:

Noise, Garbochock(one of my top 5 swedish punk bands), Bruset, Tant Strul and Heartbreak are in there plus loads of others like Snutslakt who never released anything but where a very prolific live band and one of the best swedish bands I’ve seen and heard.

      • Tony says:

Ge oss mer info om boken for i helvete. Later mkt intressant

        • Keith says:

I am interested to see what your other top 5 Swedish punk bands are…. I guess mine would be something like…..
          1. Ebba Grön
          2. Asta Kask
          3. Attentat
          4. Strindbergs
          5. KSMB
but that list can change from week to week…. Docent Död, Traste & Superstararna and Troublemakers go in and out as the months go by……….

          • The Flakes // Drummer says:

My list change from week to week too. Or rather month by month since I mainly listen US punk.

            But here´s a try:
            1. Ebba Grön
            2. Garbochock
            3. Kriminella Gitarrer
            4. Razzia
            5. Blitzen

          • Keith says:

I have never listened to Razzia before, unless I heard them on this site. I will check them out. I’ve been looking for the Kriminella Gitarrer comp cd online, but the only place that sells it so far is Stry’s website, and I doubt he ships to Canada. I usually just buy from Bengans or Drella. The Blitzen ep is pretty damn awesome, Fruset blod for sure…. I guess I should have listed Heartbreak in my top five, and Göteborg Sound is definitely in my top ten. Noise as well, great fucking band. Hard to understand their accent, must be a Klippan thing. Kommissarie Roy is the same way, great album though.

  4. Dewey Decimal says:

Not my taste, but fun to listen to once. Great sleeve and label art.

  5. lackeyland says:

I think they were from Cincinnati?

  6. hoping this is that goofy loud punk with a good yeller!

  7. The Flakes // Drummer says:

Can’t believe there’s more comments on the rather mediocre Rotters 7inch. That’s life and you all suck!

    • ClashSUK says:

Believe it…most fans of “punk” are as sheep like as the fans of whatever they criticize. Most punk fans make a person NOT want to like punk. Come to think of it, that is most music fans, period!!!

  8. Bader says:

please tell me more about the book.. sounds interesting..
wouldnt it be possible to publish it in english as well?
i might be interested.. so far i am only doing a label since 9 years..
but books are awesome too :)

    • The Flakes // Drummer says:

Maybe it would be possible if someone would volunteer to translate it from swedish to english. But I guess that’s never gonna happen. Don’t know what more I can tell you actually then I did in the post. Anyway I’ll let the author know that people might be interested in an english version.

      • zach says:

i’d be interested in an english version too.

        • BADER says:

i have a friend here in berlin who is a translator and he speaks swedish pretty well.. and english of course..
is it more discography and pictures or really really many written pages? hehe?!
if you can give me more infos i d def like to check if it would be possible..
by the way.. i am doing a project called HARDCORE CONNECTION
every song is song by a different singer and its all 70ies punk and 80ies hardcore covers.. guitar players are Gizz Butt from the English Dogs and Jay Landsford from The Simpletones
first 7inch is out now.. please email me your postal adress and i will ship one over to you..

          • The Flakes // Drummer says:

            Hi Bader!
It’s quiet lot of text so it will be a massive work. Discography, pictures and a band history. I think the book will be at least 500 pages.

  9. Erich says:

If you could translate it from swedish to german, I’d take it from there and make an english version. deal?

  10. Marc says:

There needs to be an english version!

  11. BADER says:

ok i will still ask my friend
it sounds like an exciting book
maybe you can find out how much it would cost me to get the license to do the english version of the book!

  12. Ian says:

Can’t listen right now, but gotta say this is a really great sleeve!

  13. roc says:

this is some garbage cheese. In My Reflection is the only almost almost listenable.

  14. roberthelpus says:

I was in the two guitar players’ and the bass player’s next band The Nervous Pioneers. They were from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA in the early 80’s and made a splash around here locally. There was a reunion of both of the bands in 2007 for a memorial concert for a local Cincinnati musician.

I’m giving a shout to the drummer to post something.

  15. Dirk says:

Never seen another copy or knew anybody who had this. Mine is a white label with the actual labels lose in the sleeve. Thought it was maybe something that never made it past the test press stage. Got mine through an obscure source in the early 90’s. Pretty decent record.

  16. Mike Danger says:

Did anybody else catch that pipeline solo in the first song? Ha!

  17. fred says:

hi im the bass player from dtm i can be contacted @ for info/ep’s(i have afew left hi bob mike jerry kendall greg tim
