Ny VÃ¥g – Svensk Punk / New Wave / Synth 1977-1982 Book

As you may remember I’ve been talking about the design of a swedish punk book I’ve been working on. It’s finally done and will be released on the 21th of August 2012. It’s all in swedish but loads of photos and extensive discographies. Compiled and written by Peter Kagerland former guitarist of Spy.

Pre order and read more about it:

  1. Wow – that’s cool – can’t wait until it comes out. Will place an order asap. Hoping for someting similar on finish KBD …

    Kul! Bevakning satt på AdLibris.

The book looks great. That it’s written in the author’s native tongue, I expect it will read much better than that English-language encyclopedia of Swedish punk.

Book publishing can be a tough racket. My novel, which was more a piece of amateur cultural anthropology, was widely criticized when it was translated by my Canadian girlfriend (Canada never had a written language until 1955) from English to Mongoloid. ‘Loid literary critics threatened to knock me down with their fists if I ever travelled east of civilization (i.e., Germany).

Today marks America’s independence. Watching the idiots parading by my house in their tricorn hats, I will forever regret that the British didn’t put down the revolution. Fuck the USA!

Just ordered my copy, can’t wait to read this! I have the Encyclopedia, and a better book called Varför tror du vi lÃ¥ter som vi lÃ¥ter… (cool KSMB reference), but this should kill them both.

As far as I know, Canada’s only languages are poorly spoken English, and poorly spoken French, hehehehe…… I only say that because I live there.

  5. Pelle Wengelin says:

I agree. The book looks great! :)

  6. Stig Dangerman says:

Tried to order the book and both paypal and my credit card company refused payment. Today I was contacted by my credit company and warned about providing “material support to terrorists (i.e., social democrats).” Is the book going to be available in the provinces of North America?

  7. Keith says:

The book arrived the other day, and it is amazing! Great selection of bands this time around. I’m still just on the ‘A’ bands, so I’ll be reading this for a while. Fantastic job!

  8. Wow, I just finally heard the 33-song comp CD that came with the book- lots of high-quality, ultra-rarities! I finally got to hear something by Straitjacket after all these years. A standing ovation for the people who complied that one! I assume you helped so thanks. Unreleased cassettes must have been the source for some of that stuff…
