I’m not sure, but I believe the full title for this great Dutch EP is New Disease Sells In Europe!, otherwise the text on the backside of the sleeve makes no sense to me. Anyone here who knows? I’ve only seen it listed as New Disease E.P., but I like the full title a bit better.
6 songs recorded and put to vinyl as early as January 1978, which I think is pretty impressive as not that many bands had that many songs on a 45 rpm 7″ that early (the second EP from the Gizmos is the only other one I can think of right now, although it runs on 33 rpm). All songs are damn good as well! It’s not really something that sticks out, and it’s not the greatest thing from Holland ever, but it’s still a very, very solid record in my opinion. I don’t know if they were regarded as a punk band at the time, but to me they sound like a rougher power pop band with more than one nod to the Rolling Stones and mid 60’s garage rock. Nice melodies, tight musicianship and great melodic vocals. The more times in a row I play it, the more I like it. 2000 copies and pretty easy to find, so pick up your copy as they’re still cheaper than crappier record from the same period. There’s a second pressing with a different sleeve as well, but it seems like that one don’t show up as often as the first press.

What a classic! Can’t believe I’m the first one to comment on it! So glad you posted this one instead of the Rondon/ Railbirds split 7″. Thanks a million!
Rondos, not Rondon of course.
This is a damn cool record, Martin! I really dig the 60’s influence (mainly because i’m a HUGE fan of 60’s garagepunk) and the songs make you want to wear your dancing shoes and go off in the dancefloor. The whole EP is kickass, no letdowns!! Only one thing: why tracks 3, 5 and 6 sound mono? It’s the way it was recorded or you were the one who fucked it up? ;) Thanks a lot for sharing!!
Guess I fukked up again. Technology ain’t no friend of mine.
Hey Martin, can you fix these three songs?
I’ll do my best asap
yeah, superstereophonic would be great!
discogs has two versions [with different artwork] listed:

great stuff – raw & jangly with a bit of swagger – just what I needed to hear today! Many thanks!
I really don’t know, but to me, it looks likte the full title is New Disease Sells 2000 copies In Europe!
Haha, you’re right Johnny. And what a great title that is! They had it all figured out. Punk was a new disease, and the estimated number of people who would get it was 2000.
So, Martin: where’s the Rondos/Railbirds split 7″? We’re still waiting… ;-)
Keep waiting, I still have a bunch of records from other countries to post. At least 20 different countries before I repeat myself. Be patient Chano.
Saw the cover pic of that rec online (the one with the cop on wheelchair) and now i’m very curious!! I’ll wait willingly anyway. :)
Hey Martin, please please fix that three songs…..
Nice.
Although it’s not really a punk band, and their EP runs on 33 rpm too, MX-80 Sound did a 7 songs 7″ in 1976 (reissued on Gulcher a year later – for the Gizmos connection).
“Hey Martin, please please fix that three songs…..”
Kissin’ your heavy steelcapped boots in adoration…
Will re-rip em this week. Totally forget about it all the time.
PS I wear Chelsea boots DS
A minor correction, I do wear heavy steelcap boots, but only at work.
New Suzannes files now uploaded!
Deepfreeze boy is still in mono.

BTW the title changed with every edition, f.i. the 2nd one was: Suzannes – EP (Now Hitpick Extra Supply 2.500 Necessary!)
Terrible record. This band wore plastic sandals.
