Depression – S/T E.P. 7″

For unknown reasons I can’t get my scanner to work right now so I took some shitty photos instead, deal with it! I wish this was the only reason for my long drawn absence from this website, but I’ve lost interest for a while when the summer was so hot here in Sweden. Hopefully I’ll get back to posting a bit more now when the autumn is creeping nearer and the rain’s pouring down. Glad Peter don’t mind the heat and kept on posting at a higher than average speed.

So what about this plastic pancake then? It has the kind of bass lines in punk that really makes me go down on my knees. So melodic and simply irresistible, and as I tend to listen to the bass and drums in music before guitar and vocals, this cheap French 7″ is one of my many favorites from there. Is this kind of melodic bass called “walking bass” by the way? The b-side is slower and less catchy but I still think it’s pretty OK, despite being too long.

All I know about the band is that most of them went on to become graffiti writers, bombers and taggers as they just couldn’t resist to sign more or less every single copy of this EP. I got lucky as only one of them put his doodeling on my copy.

pretty good – love that tinny drum sound! Now you have no alternative but to post the Australian Depression 7″ (soldiers never cry/world leaders) – as ‘aussie’ as this is french!

Back with a BANG!!! Eh, Martin? ;-) Excellent ep and new to me. It reminds me a lot of some of the early SoCal punk rock bands, fast and relentless just like that. And the bass line are brilliant: so catchy and all over the place. B-side is also VERY good and i don’t feel like it’s too long at all; i can easily get through it and the bass line is even catchier! Merci beaucoup!! :-)
