A rather new discovery for me. I fell in love immediately. Stumbled upon a copy and nabbed it. And here it is for you to enjoy though I doubt many of you will appreciate it. Gritty amateurish and monotonous post-punk with great vocals. 11th Hour… and Look Back… is what hits the sweet spots for me. This was the Beyond the Implodes second 7inch and pressed in a vast quantity of 250 copies. Thanks to Dizzy/Detour/Bored Teenagers you can read a bit more about ’em here:

Maybe a bit of a Fall influence? Could just be the vocals, though, as I really don’t know much Fall stuff. Different.

  2. Chano says:

Uhm… To me this ep is all about “Look Back…”. The other 2 songs are kinda flimsy, but who cares when you get a killer like “Look Back…”? The change of mood in the middle of the song is awesome. Thanx 4 sharing. :-)

I think this entire ep is really good, and I really like the last song as well. Don’t know why, but it reminds me of the Yardbirds a bit, or at least the way the Yardbirds sounds in my head when I think about them.

  4. Timbo says:

Reminds me a little of Section 25 (same era too). This is a gem – thanks for the upload.

  5. I’m surprised the widow of one of the late members of Beyond the Implode hasn’t had you about this already?…usually very quick with the DCMA complaint.Maybe she’s gave up at last?
Anyway, check this mass of demo’s, rehearsals, and live stuff :
