Richard And The Taxmen – Now We’re Through/Honey Please Don’t Go 7″

Anyone here who’d fancy some commersial, well produced and cheesy power pop? I might add that it’s a total killer as well. Now we’re through should’ve been a huge hit for these guys, but I guess it dropped like a bomb. Too bad, but lucky for us copies of it are still quite easy to find, and cheap as well. Released on the Future Earth label that had a few other power pop nuggets that are worth tracking down.

The rip sounds great. A lot better than my old one…cheesy but pretty good!

I remember hearing this on evening radio in the UK way back when. Like you, I never understood why it was never a massive hit. I’d forgotten all about it until now and still wonder why it never took off. To the uninitiated, give it a listen, it’s worth it!

Not really my cup of tea, but not terribly bad. Especially the b side kicks.

I just discovered this excellent band via the 1981 play ‘Looks & Smiles’ where they are playing in a club. Luckily the band are credited at the end so I immediately searched for & found the two songs off the single. How many releases were there & can anyone say what happened to the group?
