How about another classic release? Yeah, I know you’d prefer another well known gem over a more unknown one, so here’s the stunning, strutting, stereophonic and not to forget superb release from Dundee’s finest in basically everything; the massive Scrotum Poles!
So exactly what is a “scrotum pole” you innocent readers might ask yourself? Well kids, there are a few different versions of how the term can be used, but my favourite is when four or more guys place their ball bags on top of one another’s thus making a totem pole of male genitalia. Now can you see that in front of you? What a beautyful thing it is! I think there are more people out there who wants a high and classy scrotum pole on top of their coffin then there are collectors who want Helicopter Honeymoon to be played at their funeral, despite what Johan Kugelberg once said.
All tracks on this EP are killers, even if the most hardcore punx of you might prefer the three hymns on the b-side as they’re faster than the slightly slower and sadder songs on the a-side. However, if you think so, you are wrong as this is about as good as true DIY punk will ever get.
And in case you didn’t know that already, these guys should be adored and saluted as loud and proud as your absolute favorite band! Again a mandatory download!

On a rainy Friday afternoon at work this is just what I need! I cant go & see two of the original members of the Victims (plus a hard on) play the entire Victims set in Sydney tonight (as the Television Addicts), so I may as well listen to the Scrotum Poles instead…which is great btw…only ever heard Radio Tay. Thank ye!
once more another gem, all songs have beautiful melodies and its the perfect soundtrack for my kinky mood – Keep it up!
Kinky mood? This is a family friendly website for christ’s sake!
Side A sounds tough, dark and is perfect for a quick jaunt through the cemetary. Kinda similar to Squeeze, but definately PUNK. Thanx for posting this.
Yes, i like the b-side better. :-) The a-side isn’t that bad, though, especially “Night Train”. Thanks!
A classic. Always loved Night train.
Anyone else find the Fall’s Hotel Bloedel reminiscent of Why don’t… ? Wondering if this was an inspiration.
