Hand Grenades – Demo To London/Coma Dos 7″

It’s usually Peter’s job to post US records, but as these New Yorkians sounded like they were from York I got to post it. I have to say I prefer the b-side with it’s amazingly crappy bass sound, but the a-side is a killer as well. And I’m actually still surprised that this is not a UK band. Here’s a nice little write up with some videos and info, which is nice as there’s no info on the sleeve what so ever. Now enjoy what the boss of this site calls the best post punk record ever made!

Another one that went down really well obviously…

  2. Stephen (AI) says:

Oh, hell yeah. I love this, and that it was recorded in New York around the same time as the Misfits, Plasmatics, and Bad Brains. B-side = best side.

  3. Kount Jizznack says:

This one ain’t bad. It has some filthiness to it.

  4. Chano says:

Another odd one… I think “Coma Dos” has been included on some KBD comp. Not bad. This is the first time i hear the A side and i have to admit that i like it a lot better. It’s a bit more atypical and it’s catchy despite the edgy style. Cheers!

    • Martin says:

Yup, Coma Dos was on one of those Killed by 7″ if memory serves me correct, and I assume the a-side’s been on at least one H2D related comp.

I got lucky about 6 months ago and found one of this in a dollar bin at a big punk record store! They didn’t know what it was and I got to admit I didn’t either. It was a great surprise to hear how cool this record is.

    • Martin says:

Great find Greg! I actually thought this was a well known record among punks, but I guess not. A friend of mine played it for me the first time some 15 years ago, and we both agreed it was another great, but under rated UK band. Later we found out we were mislead, but I’m still in a bit of a shock that they were from the US.

I am a great fan of Hand Grenades I love their music.
